Evolution Mallorca Film Fest to Honor Edward Berger, Matthew Libatique; San Sebastián Awards Latin American Talent

The Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival is set to celebrate the achievements of acclaimed filmmaker Edward Berger and cinematographer Matthew Libatique, who will receive the festival's top honors. Berger, known for his work on "Conclave" and "All Quiet on the Western Front," and Libatique, recognized for his contributions to films such as "Requiem for a Dream" and "Black Swan," are among the distinguished guests at the event scheduled from October 28th to November 4th.

In parallel, the San Sebastián Film Festival's Industry Awards have recognized emerging talent from Latin America. Colombian directors Juan Sebastián Mesa and Tatiana Huezo were among the recipients at the WIP Latam section, highlighting their significant contributions to the region's cinematic landscape. The awards at San Sebastián specifically aimed to spotlight first or second-time directors, underscoring the festival's commitment to nurturing new voices in filmmaking.
