Toronto Festival Awards 'Angh' and 'La Bola Negra'; Lucas Museum Opens

The Toronto International Film Festival has concluded its awards ceremony, with India's "Angh" securing the prestigious Platform Prize. This win not only recognizes the directorial debut of Theja Rio but also grants the film automatic contention for the 2027 Oscars in the international feature film category. "Angh" was the sole Indian film featured in the competitive Platform section this year.

In another significant audience award, the Spanish queer period drama "La Bola Negra" was honored with the People's Choice Award, signaling its popularity among festival-goers. The film, which spans multiple timelines from 1932 to 2017, has garnered critical attention since its premiere at Cannes. Meanwhile, the film industry also celebrated the grand opening of George Lucas' Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, an event attended by numerous Hollywood luminaries.
