Film Festivals Gear Up for Fall Season with Diverse Lineups and Industry Focus

As the autumn film festival circuit approaches, several prominent events are announcing their selections and industry programs. The Morelia Film Festival (FICM) in Mexico will feature a strong lineup of Mexican talent, including actor-producer Diego Luna's directorial effort "Ashes." Meanwhile, the Locarno Film Festival, which recently concluded, saw record industry attendance amidst a challenging market, with discussions highlighting the need for more female filmmakers.

The Venice Film Festival is set to premiere "Zoom In, Zoom Out," the debut feature from Chinese director Jie Dong, with international sales company M-Appeal handling distribution. The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will host Frontières at TIFF: The Market, showcasing genre projects like Johnnie To's "Two Gun Cohen."
