Global Film Festivals Announce Major Lineups and Awards Ahead of Autumn Season

As the autumn film festival season approaches, major events have unveiled significant programming and honors. The Busan International Film Festival's Asian Cinema Fund selected three international co-productions for its 2026 Co-Production Support Fund, awarding a combined KRW140 million ($100,000) to projects from directors Fukada Koji, Jakrawal Nilthamrong, and Boo Junfeng. Additionally, Busan will honor its founder, 88-year-old Kim Dong-ho, with the Korean Cinema Award at the October 6 opening ceremony, recognizing his decades of contributions to the industry.
