The global film festival circuit is abuzz with activity as major events like Locarno, Venice, and San Sebastián announce their lineups and industry developments. Locarno Film Festival saw record industry attendance, highlighting the ongoing challenges and opportunities within the arthouse sector, while also featuring discussions on the importance of women filmmakers. Meanwhile, Venice Critics' Week is set to premiere "Zoom In, Zoom Out," a debut feature from Chinese director Jie Dong, with world sales handled by M-Appeal.

Further announcements reveal a diverse range of films heading to upcoming festivals. The Toronto International Film Festival's Frontières market will showcase genre projects including Johnnie To's "Two Gun Cohen." The New York Film Festival will feature Éric Baudelaire's documentary "For the Moon," acquired by Cinema Guild for North American distribution.
