However, the races were overshadowed by concerns over extreme heat. Riders, including Britain's Matthew Brennan, expressed dismay at competing in temperatures reaching 44 degrees Celsius, with Brennan questioning the safety of such conditions and suggesting potential heatstroke risks. The Vuelta a España also saw a stage shortened due to high temperatures, highlighting a growing issue for professional cycling.
