Animation Master Rintaro to Attend Busan Film Festival After 17 Years

The 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) will feature a special program dedicated to Japanese animation, spanning a century of the medium's history. A highlight of the festival will be the attendance of renowned animation director Rintaro, marking his first visit to Korea in 17 years.

Rintaro, a celebrated figure in Japanese animation, will join four emerging directors for the "Japanese Animation Special" program. This curated selection will showcase both foundational classics and contemporary works, offering a comprehensive look at the evolution of Japanese animation.
