French Tourist Dies in Death Valley Heatwave After Vehicle Strands

A 68-year-old French tourist has died in California's Death Valley after his vehicle became stuck in mud, leaving him stranded in extreme temperatures. The incident occurred along a remote park road where temperatures reached 116°F (47°C).

The man, identified as Pierre Michel Formosa, was traveling with another French national when their car became immobilized near the Queen of Sheba Mine Road. The extreme heat and his subsequent search for assistance proved fatal, highlighting the perilous conditions in the region.
