Arizona Sues L'Oréal Over Alleged Concealment of Hair Relaxer Cancer Risks

Arizona has filed a lawsuit against cosmetics giant L'Oréal, accusing the company of concealing evidence that its hair relaxer products could cause cancer. The lawsuit, brought forth by Democratic Attorney General Kristin Mayes, marks the first time a U.S. state has sued over these alleged risks.

The legal action echoes thousands of similar lawsuits filed by users and their families who claim the products, predominantly used by African American women, are linked to ovarian and uterine cancers. Arizona's suit alleges that L'Oréal has violated state consumer protection laws by marketing these products without adequately warning consumers about the potential dangers.
