Norris Claims Historic Pole at New Madring Circuit for Spanish Grand Prix

Lando Norris secured a stunning pole position for McLaren at the inaugural Spanish Grand Prix held at the new Madring circuit. His final lap in qualifying was described as a "masterpiece," narrowly beating Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli and Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

The Madring, Formula 1's first new track in three years and the sport's first street race in Madrid, presented a challenging high-speed environment. The circuit's unforgiving nature was highlighted by several incidents during practice, including crashes involving Lewis Hamilton and Oliver Bearman, which led to lengthy interruptions and barrier repairs. Despite these challenges, Norris managed to keep his car clean and execute a near-perfect lap to claim the top spot on the grid.
