Chelsea Secures Hard-Fought Draw Against Lyon in Champions League Opener

Chelsea began their Women's Champions League campaign with a goalless draw against Lyon, a result that saw their goalkeeper Hannah Hampton produce a series of crucial saves. The match was a tense affair, with both teams creating chances but ultimately unable to find the back of the net.

The draw marks a valuable point for Chelsea on the return of their head coach Sonia Bompastor to face her former club. Despite the lack of goals, Chelsea's controlled performance was noted, with Lauren James and Maika Hamano coming close to scoring a winner. VAR also played a role, overturning a penalty decision for Chelsea during the match.
