TSA PreCheck Expands Airport Access Beyond Travelers

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is piloting a new program that allows TSA PreCheck members to access secure areas of select airports even without a plane ticket. This initiative, currently active at over a dozen U.S. airports, aims to provide greater convenience for individuals meeting or seeing off travelers.

Under the expanded access, eligible PreCheck members can apply to enter the airport's secure zone, enabling them to accompany passengers to their gates or greet arriving friends and family directly. The program is being rolled out to enhance the airport experience for a wider range of individuals, moving beyond the traditional passenger-only access to secure zones.
