Alliance Cinema Finances David Mamet's 'Speed The Plow' and Brazilian YA Adaptation

Producer-financier Alliance Cinema has announced its involvement in two new film projects. The company is providing equity financing for David Mamet's upcoming directorial effort, "Speed The Plow," an adaptation of his own acclaimed Broadway play. The film, currently in post-production, stars Anthony Mackie and is Mamet's return to directing.

In addition to backing Mamet's project, Alliance Cinema is also lining up a Brazilian young adult adaptation titled "Diary Of A Weird Girl." The company, with bases in Los Angeles and Germany, has a production and financing history that includes titles such as "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and "Dark Tide."
