London Film Festival Taps Sam Pollard to Lead Competition Jury

The London Film Festival has announced that legendary documentary filmmaker Sam Pollard will preside over the Official Competition jury for its upcoming edition. Pollard, known for his impactful work in documentary cinema, will be joined by Argentine filmmaker and writer Mariano Llinás and Julie La Bassiere, Chief Strategy Officer at DDA Global, in evaluating the ten films vying for the top prize.

This announcement comes as several other film festivals are revealing their programming and key personnel. The Jakarta World Cinema festival is set to open with Palme d’Or winner ‘Fjord,’ and the Philadelphia Film Festival will also feature ‘Fjord’ alongside other notable titles. Meanwhile, the Tallinn Film Fest has appointed two-time Oscar winner Christopher Hampton to lead its jury, highlighting a busy period for international film events.
