Jamie Lee Curtis is set to receive the inaugural award inspired by Rob and Michelle Reiner at the Children's Institute Gala, where John Mayer will perform. The award, created by Jake and Romy Reiner with their aunt Martine Singer, honors the Reiners' parents and their example of being good human beings.
In other awards news, the Recording Academy has confirmed that the controversial Best Asian Pop Music Performance category will debut at the 2027 Grammy Awards. Despite divided reactions following its initial announcement in June, Grammy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. stated that the loudest feedback received was from enthusiastic supporters of the new category. The decision is expected to be met with mixed reactions.
