Appeals Court Backs Trump-Favored Missouri Maps, Supreme Court Likely to Rule

A federal appeals court has ruled in favor of new congressional maps in Missouri that are backed by former President Donald Trump. The three-judge panel of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals stated that the state should use these Republican-drawn districts for the upcoming November election, as they were already utilized in the August primary.

The court's decision asserts that reverting to the previous district boundaries for the general election would violate the U.S. Constitution. However, the U.S. Supreme Court has previously blocked these maps from being used in the November election, indicating that the highest court will likely have the final say in this ongoing legal dispute over redistricting.
