Robotaxi Calls Police on Riders with Ghost Gun

A Waymo autonomous vehicle in San Francisco reportedly pulled over and alerted authorities to its passengers, leading to the arrest of two juveniles. The individuals were found to be in possession of a loaded AR-style ghost gun.

The incident highlights a new dynamic in the deployment of robotaxis, where the vehicles themselves can act as a point of contact for law enforcement. While the police report did not specify who was operating the vehicle at the time of the incident, the autonomous system's intervention resulted in the apprehension of the suspects.
