Indonesian Ferry Sinks in Java Sea; Over 100 Missing, Six Dead

A ferry carrying over 240 passengers and crew capsized in the Java Sea due to bad weather, resulting in at least six confirmed deaths and over 100 people rescued. Search and rescue operations are ongoing for the more than 130 individuals still unaccounted for.

The vessel, identified as the Virgo Transport 8, departed from Surabaya in East Java and was en route to Borneo when it encountered severe weather conditions. Authorities have deployed ships and helicopters to scour the area for survivors amidst the ongoing search for the missing passengers and crew.
