Hero Pilot Recounts Flydubai Cockpit Attack, Investigators Seek Motive

The pilot of a Flydubai flight has been hailed a hero after he fought off his co-pilot who allegedly stabbed him and attempted to crash the plane. Captain Smit Machchhar recounted the harrowing experience, stating he opened the cockpit door while being attacked to allow passengers to overpower his assailant, ultimately saving lives.

Investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the attack, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggesting the co-pilot had undergone "Islamist radical indoctrination." The United Arab Emirates has taken the lead in the investigation, exploring potential links to terrorism. The incident has led to the suspension of Flydubai's service between Dubai and Tel Aviv.
