SCAD Savannah Honors Lange, Reeves; Muslim Film Fest Launches in NYC

The SCAD Savannah Film Festival is set to recognize several prominent figures in the film industry. Jessica Lange will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented during a screening of "Long Day's Journey Into Night." Additionally, Keanu Reeves, Seth Rogen, Gemma Chan, and Jordan Firstman are among the notable names slated to receive honors at the 29th edition of the festival, which runs from October 24-31.

Meanwhile, New York City will host its inaugural Muslim Film Festival (NYMFF) starting October 11 at the SVA Theatre. The festival aims to provide a platform for Muslim filmmakers to share their own narratives, moving beyond the often-stereotyped portrayals found in Western media. The NYMFF's artistic director, Hassan Babar, emphasized the importance of authentic storytelling from within the community.
