Prince Harry and Elton John Ordered to Pay £9.5M in Legal Costs

The Duke of Sussex, along with six other prominent claimants including Doreen Lawrence and Elton John, has been ordered by a judge to pay an interim sum of £9.54 million towards the legal costs of Associated Newspapers Ltd. This ruling follows the claimants' unsuccessful High Court case alleging unlawful information gathering by the Daily Mail publisher.

The payment is due within seven days, by 4pm on August 28. Associated Newspapers Ltd had previously denied all allegations brought forth by Prince Harry and the other co-claimants. The substantial interim payment reflects the significant legal expenses incurred by the publisher in defending against the claims.
