The Seattle Mariners have launched their Steelhead Community Fund, awarding over $100,000 in grants to two local organizations dedicated to supporting baseball for Black and brown youth. This initiative honors the legacy of the Seattle Steelheads, an all-Black baseball team from the 1940s, with funding directed towards Kent-based Baseball & Softball Beyond Borders and the Black Heritage Society of Washington State. Mariners president of business operations Kevin Martinez highlighted the organizations' commitment to community uplift.
