Reno Wildfire Forces 90,000 Evacuations, Destroys Homes Amidst Extreme Behavior

A fast-moving wildfire, dubbed the Hawk fire, has prompted evacuation orders for approximately 90,000 residents in Reno, Nevada, and the adjacent North Valley. The "human-caused" blaze, which began on Saturday northwest of the city, has exhibited "extreme fire behavior" and rapidly expanded, burning over 15,000 acres by Monday morning with zero containment. Thousands of homes and businesses have been impacted, with many left without power.

At least six individuals have been injured as the wildfire continues its destructive path. Officials are urging widespread evacuations as the wind-driven fire bears down on populated areas.
