Apple Unveils Foldable iPhone Duo, Raises Prices on New and Older Models

Apple has officially entered the foldable smartphone market with the announcement of the iPhone Duo, featuring a 7.6-inch screen when unfolded. This marks a significant shift for the company, which has historically been slower to adopt new form factors compared to competitors like Samsung and Google. The iPhone Duo is not only Apple's first foldable device but also the first product to bear the "Duo" name, despite the existence of previous Duo devices from other companies.

Alongside the new foldable, Apple also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which see a $100 price increase, starting at $1,199 and $1,299 respectively. This price hike extends to older iPhone models as well, with the iPhone 16, 17, and Air all seeing a $100 increase. The company also announced updates to the Apple Watch and AirPods 5, along with advancements to its Siri AI. Partners like Netflix are already working to optimize their apps for the larger screen real estate of the iPhone Duo, aiming to deliver a "big-screen feeling."
