Infantino Seeks Support in Dominican Republic Amidst FIFA Leadership Challenge

FIFA President Gianni Infantino is reportedly planning to attend a junior tournament in the Dominican Republic this weekend. This move is seen as a strategic effort to garner support from Caribbean Football Union (CFU) member associations, which hold voting power within FIFA.

The CFU comprises 21 voting members, and Infantino's presence at the U14 Boys Challenge competition is interpreted as an attempt to consolidate his position. This comes at a time when a coalition of UEFA and CONCACAF is actively working to challenge his leadership.
