Kroenke Acquires Los Angeles Angels in $4 Billion Deal

Stan Kroenke, a prominent sports mogul with ownership stakes in the NFL's Los Angeles Rams, NBA's Denver Nuggets, NHL's Colorado Avalanche, MLS's Colorado Rapids, and the Premier League's Arsenal, has agreed to purchase a controlling interest in Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Angels. The reported $4 billion deal will end Arte Moreno's 23-year ownership of the franchise, which began in 2003.

The sale, announced by Kroenke Sports + Entertainment, is anticipated to close in the first quarter of 2027, pending approval from Major League Baseball and its owners. This acquisition adds an MLB team to Kroenke's diverse sports portfolio, which already spans four major professional leagues in the United States and one in England.
