NASA Launches Roman Space Telescope to Map Universe, Study Dark Energy

NASA has successfully launched the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, a powerful new observatory designed to expand our understanding of the universe. The telescope will embark on a multi-year mission to create a comprehensive map of the cosmos, focusing on mysteries such as dark energy and dark matter.

After overcoming funding challenges, including proposed budget cuts, the Roman telescope is now en route to its operational orbit at the second Sun-Earth Lagrange point (L2). From this vantage point, it will utilize its wide field of view to conduct unprecedented surveys, potentially revealing details about exoplanets and the formation of planetary systems.
