UK Charges Rwandan Man in First Genocide Case on British Soil

In a landmark legal development, a Rwandan man has been charged in the United Kingdom with crimes linked to the 1994 genocide. This marks the first time such charges have been brought in the UK, signaling a significant step in pursuing justice for the atrocities committed.

Dr. Vincent Brown, formerly known as Dr. Vincent Bajinya and aged 65, is accused of seven offenses. He resided in Kigali, Rwanda, before moving to Islington, North London. Brown is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court to face these charges, which stem from his alleged involvement in the genocide that claimed the lives of an estimated 800,000 people.
