Rohingya Refugee's Death Sparks Outrage, Democrats Demand DHS Cooperation

US lawmakers are demanding full cooperation from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the investigation into the death of Nurul Amin Shah Alam, a nearly blind Rohingya refugee. Shah Alam was found deceased in Buffalo after border agents reportedly left him outside a closed coffee shop on a freezing night.

Democratic representatives, including Tim Kennedy, Bennie Thompson, Lou Correa, and Nellie Pou, held a press conference near where Shah Alam was discovered. They are urging DHS to provide all necessary records and assist the Erie County District Attorney's investigation, highlighting concerns about the handling of vulnerable migrants at the border.
