England Pledges Half a Million Trees Amid Rising Extreme Weather Threats

The UK government has announced plans to plant half a million trees across England within the next three years. This initiative, spearheaded by Environment Secretary Angela Eagle, aims to bolster natural defenses against increasingly frequent extreme weather events, including droughts and floods.

Alongside tree planting, the government will provide new funding and responsibilities to local authorities, mayors, charities, and community groups.
