Asda Achieves First Sales Growth in Over Two Years

Asda, the UK's third-largest supermarket, has announced its first quarterly sales growth in more than two years, marking a significant turnaround for the retailer. The company reported a 0.2% increase in sales at established stores, excluding fuel, for the three months ending in June.

Executive Chair Allan Leighton attributed the positive performance to strategic initiatives focused on lowering prices and enhancing the online shopping experience. This growth follows a 2.3% sales decline in the preceding quarter, signaling a crucial milestone and a potential shift in the supermarket's market position.
