Ofwat Approves £3.4bn Extra Water Spending, Driving Bill Increases

Ofwat has provisionally approved 13 water companies in England and Wales to increase customer bills to fund an additional £3.4bn in spending, on top of the previously approved £104bn investment programme. This extra expenditure is intended to support new homes and datacentres, among other measures. The regulator's decision means millions of households will face higher water bills, with the new spending adding to the already planned 36% rise in bills over the second half of the decade.
