Typhoon Dolphin Strikes Eastern China After Battering Japan's Okinawa

Typhoon Dolphin, the strongest storm to hit China this year, made landfall on the country's east coast on Sunday evening, bringing torrential rain and high winds to Shanghai and other parts of eastern China. The storm triggered warnings of flooding and landslides as it moved inland, prompting the evacuation of approximately one million people from their homes. Before reaching China, the typhoon swept through Japan's southern Okinawa prefecture, where it injured six people and cut power to more than 50,000 buildings, according to reports from The Guardian and BBC.
