ICE Plans $20M Purchase of Electric Shock Gloves Amid Reports of Deportees Imprisoned in Eswatini

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced plans to spend up to $20 million on specialized gloves that deliver painful electric shocks, according to a notice published by the Department of Homeland Security on Monday. The devices, called Glove (Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter), are manufactured by Compliant Technologies LLC of Lexington, Kentucky, and are intended to bring individuals into compliance in less than three seconds.
